Automatic thickness measurement and control system

This is a system with a rotating (around the bubble) capacitive scanner that measures film thicknesses continuously, an industrial PC and dedicated software to analyze and compute data sent by the scanner and calculate correcting signals for the active die, through its heating elements installed in the die perimeter. This is a closed loop system and may reduce up to 50 % thickness tolerances(Sigma 2).

Line management control
Carnevalli machines are fitted with a PLC based general line management control for full synchronization of extruders, take-offs, winders, gravimetric dosing systems, IBC systems ,etc. The management control may also be integrated with the MULTIPOINT gauge control system, and is fitted with facilities such as remote diagnosis and communication(Internet), recipes storage, alarm history, temperatures and pressures management and many other functions.

Direct drive with high torque motors

The Polaris Magnum extruders are also offered with a direct drive option, with High Torque motors, without gearboxes as  a result of an innovative and recent technology with important advantages over mainstream extruders powered  by conventional drives, such as:

Compact lay-out due to direct coupling of High Torque motors to the extruders, with no gearboxes, flexible couplings, belts, etc., for space saving and more free walk around area;
high efficiency due to reduced energy consumption allowing energy savings of +- 10 % over conventionally driven extruders;
Low operational noise due to lower speeds and absence of gears and other mechanisms;
Maintenance-free operation (no brushes, collectors, gears, oil changes, etc.);

High precision speed control and high torque, even at very low speeds, on continuous duty;

Double ring cooler systems

Double air ring cooling technology is a brand-new and state of art concept, and the result of extensive research aiming the increase of the cooling capacity of blown film lines. It has been achieved with clever developments of inner geometries of the cooling ring, redesigned lips shape to allow higher air volumes and  speeds at the cooling interface, plus improvements of the aerodynamic flow path between the blower, manifold and cooling ring. The final result is increased bubble stability, improved transversal tolerances and higher machine outputs. Main advantages are

The system has another important feature, an integrated automatic gauge control system, with independent air flow adjustment at segment of the lip, plus measuring scanner rotating around the bubble and relevant dedicated software with algorithms for gauge tolerances correction, with main advantages:
